You may be eligible for immediate permanent residence under the New Zealand stream of the 189 skilled independent visa if you:

Have lived in Australia for 5 years
Started living in Australia before 20 Feb 2016
Earned at least $53,900 taxable income each year in the last four years

You may be eligible for immediate permanent residence under the 189 skilled independent visa if you:

Are under 45 years old
Can read, write and speak English at least to the IETLS 6 level (exemptions available)
Have a diploma or degree or at least 3 years employment experience
Have a positive skills assessment for an occupation on the 189 occupation list
Score at least 65 points on the points test

Are under 45 years of age
Can read, write and speak English at least to the IETLS 6 level (exemptions available)
Have a diploma or degree or 3 years employment experience
Have a positive skills assessment in an occupation on the 190 occupation list
Can be nominated by a State or Territory government
Score at least 65 points on the points test

You may be eligible for a temporary 491 skilled regional provisional visa if you:

Are under 45 years old
Can read, write and speak English at least to the IETLS 6 level (exemptions available)
Have a diploma or degree or 3 years employment experience
Have a positive skills assessment in an occupation on the 491 occupation list
Can be nominated by a State or Territory government or a relative living in a regional area (Gold Coast is regional)
Score at least 65 points on the points test
